VICTORIAN REMIX IN CLAPHAM

posted in: News | 0

Some updated pictures of the total refurbishment and upgrade to domestic contemporary living standards of a late Victorian terrace house set within a conservation area, overlooking the Eagle pond by the Common in Clapham. The house is 4 storey property, 15m long and 6m wide and 15m tall, with solid masonry walls around perimeter with timber floors and load bearing stud walls.
The client asked for a contemporary look, open space and plenty of natural light together with total environmental upgrade. The architect therefore decided to make the rear of the house “fly” to open up the space. Project features substantial engineering challenges with different materials (timber, masonry, concrete, steel and glass) and demanded creative approach to problem solving. for more information see http://malishevengineers.com/portfolio/75-clapham-common-south-side
