Malishev Engineers were invited to participate at Glass Performance Days in Istanbul, Turkey taken place on March 07-09. Organised by GPD Finland and Glass Innovation Institute as part of Step Change & Innovations to bring latest ideas from glass. Presentations were given by startups, academics and key players in glass sector aiming to propel development of glass industry with their innovations & new technologies. Particular interest was a keynote speech given by architect Ian Ritchie who was at the forefront of the glass innovation since 1980s with his pioneering work at La Villette and other projects. Our presentation called “Zero tolerance” was focusing on specific trends in the industry and requirements from designers to manufacturers. Topics like quality of toughened glass, problems with lamination and anisotropy were discussed.
