Malishev Engineers were appointed to design structural glass for the feature stairs in the New Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia. We played a vital role as a crucial link between the client, architect and the contractors to deliver a family of complex but elegant structures for the newly built theatre in St Petersburg. Completed in May 2013, it has enjoyed wide press coverage from around the world. The project became a benchmark for the design and construction of metal and glass structures in Russia.
Structural Awards 2013 Winner
In November 2013 this project won the Institution of Structural Engineers award. Judge’s commented:
