The Ned’s head

EPR’s works on the new mega hotel (The Ned) converted from the City’s iconic Midland Bank building, originally designed by Sir Edwin Lutyen, are approaching completion.
The private members zone (The Ned’s Club) on the top floor terrace with views reaching as far as Big Ben and the City features our large retractable glass roof over the Bar & Restaurant area.
Our work, which is now installed and signed off, involved optimised glass design as well as all the associated long span steelwork and its connections to the main building. Specially designed steel sections incorporated bespoke sliding mechanisms. The works were carried out by Lindner, main contractor Ardmore. The site will be open to the public early 2017.
